I fell in love with the Maine Coon breed many years ago. When we finally decided to get our own Maine Coons for our family, we found a wonderful local breeder. Her expertise and influence were invaluable as she prepared to retire from breeding Maine Coons. With her encouragement and our commitment to learning about breed standards, coloring, traits, and TICA’s rules for showing and breeding Maine Coons, we began our journey and started AristoCoon Cattery.

 

From the beginning, we aspired to be more than just another generic, impersonal Maine Coon breeder. Our goal was to be the best breeders possible, specializing in rare colors, large sizes, and the finest personality traits. We thoroughly test the genetics of each cat in our breeding line to ensure their health, overall wellness, and lineage are of the highest quality.

 

We decided to keep our cattery small for a few key reasons. First, we genuinely love all our cats and want to ensure they live their best lives with us. As members of TICA, we are aware of many different breeders across the U.S., and we can assure you that there is a significant difference between a breeder who raises their kittens in a home and one who keeps their cats outside, away from their family. From the start, we understood that raising our cats in our home would mean we couldn't be a large breeding program. Instead, we focused on being a specialized breeding program, ensuring not only that our cats are among the largest and most beautiful Maine Coons but also that they possess unmatched temperaments.

 

The second most important reason for keeping our cattery small is that providing each cat and kitten with the best quality care, both in our home and with our veterinarian, requires significant investments of time and resources. In larger catteries, health and wellness often take a backseat to profit. We do not operate that way; we want our cats and our reputation as ethical and loving breeders to speak for themselves. And they do.
